EMAIL / SMS

Email that earns its place in the inbox, not clutter that trains people to ignore you.

Lifecycle email and SMS marketing for founders. Flows that convert before retargeting has to, campaigns that respect the reader, and list hygiene that keeps deliverability up as you scale.

Book Intro

Most email programs are already broken before the first send

A founder pays $15 to get a visitor on their list. That visitor gets a welcome email three days later that says "thanks for subscribing, here's 10% off," doesn't open it, and never comes back. A month later, the founder is paying to retarget the same person on Meta. The acquisition cost just doubled because the welcome sequence wasn't ready.

This is the pattern in nearly every email program Noble Growth audits. Not bad strategy in a grand sense - just flows that weren't maintained, subject lines that were phoned in, and a list that's silently decaying because nobody tracks the deliverability metrics that actually matter. The good news: fixing this is faster and cheaper than almost any other lever in the growth system.

What an email retainer with Noble Growth includes

Core lifecycle flows

Welcome series, abandoned cart, abandoned checkout, browse abandonment, post-purchase, win-back, and replenishment. Built, tested, and optimized continuously.

Campaign calendar

Weekly or bi-weekly campaign schedule with copy, design, and segmentation. Promotional balance, brand balance, and enough signal to keep engagement high.

Deliverability and list hygiene

Bounce management, engagement-based segmentation, re-engagement flows, sunset rules. The unsexy work that keeps your inbox placement from silently dying.

Segmentation strategy

VIPs, engaged subscribers, lapsed subscribers, high-value product buyers, first-time buyers - each gets a different cadence and angle. Spray-and-pray email dies.

SMS integration

For the clients where it fits, we layer SMS on top of email: order confirmations, shipping updates, VIP offers, abandoned cart rescue. Different channel, different tempo.

Subject line and copy testing

Every campaign and flow email tested for subject line using our Email Subject Line Tester. Winners rolled into library, losers retired.

How Noble Growth runs an email program

Onboarding starts with a flow audit. We look at what exists (even if that's nothing), what the intent level is at each trigger, and where the current program is leaking value. Usually the welcome sequence is either missing, too short, or too promotional. Usually abandoned cart either doesn't exist or fires once. Usually post-purchase is a single confirmation with no follow-up. Each of these is a flow we can fix in a week that produces compounding returns forever.

From there we settle into a rhythm: build or rebuild one core flow every 2-3 weeks, run 1-2 campaigns per week, and monitor deliverability trends monthly. The campaign calendar balances promo, education, new product, and brand signal - not 100% discount emails, not 100% soft content. The mix keeps engagement high and prevents the list from burning out.

We use Klaviyo as our default for ecommerce (best flow builder, best segmentation), Attentive or Postscript for SMS, and HubSpot or Customer.io for B2B SaaS. We're platform-agnostic and will work with whatever you've already set up rather than forcing a migration.

Tactics we rely on

  • Welcome series designed to earn the second click, not just deliver the promo code.
  • Abandoned cart with three touches over 48 hours, each with a different angle (urgency, social proof, objection handler).
  • Post-purchase as a retention and referral engine, not a shipping confirmation.
  • Engagement-based sender reputation management. If someone hasn't opened in 90 days, we stop sending until they re-engage.
  • Subject lines written to the segment, not to the full list.

Who this works for

Email marketing is highest leverage for:

  • Ecommerce brands doing $500k+/yr where lifecycle flows can drive 20-35% of total revenue
  • DTC brands with repeat purchase potential (consumables, subscriptions, accessories)
  • B2B SaaS with long sales cycles where nurture flows warm leads toward a sales conversation
  • Content-driven brands where the newsletter IS the product

Not the right fit for brands with lists under 1,000 (not enough volume for flow testing to mean anything), one-time-purchase products with no retention angle, or founders who want to be completely hands-off - the best email programs have a founder willing to weigh in on voice and offer decisions.

One flat monthly retainer. Every channel included.

Common questions

Which email platforms does Noble Growth work with?

For ecommerce: Klaviyo (our default), Mailchimp, Omnisend, Drip. For SMS: Attentive, Postscript, Community. For B2B SaaS: HubSpot, Customer.io, ActiveCampaign, ConvertKit. For publishers and creators: Substack (limited), Beehiiv, Kit. We're platform-agnostic - we'll work with whatever you already use rather than push a migration unless the current platform is actively the problem.

What's a realistic percentage of revenue email should drive for ecommerce?

For a mature program, 25-40% of total revenue is the healthy range, with the split roughly 60% from flows (evergreen) and 40% from campaigns (promo, launches, editorial). If you're under 15% email revenue, there's usually significant flow work undone. If you're over 45%, the brand is often over-reliant on email and under-invested in top-of-funnel acquisition - a different problem, but still a problem.

How much does email marketing management cost?

Noble Growth's email program is included in our flat monthly retainer - same rate whether we're running only email or the full multi-channel system. The included-in-retainer model means you don't pick and choose what you can afford - you get the whole growth system. Pricing shared on the intro call.

Do you write the email copy or work with my team's copywriter?

Both options work. Most clients have us write the copy (we keep a tight feedback loop with your brand voice). Some clients have a strong in-house copywriter and we provide the strategy, templates, and review. We'll adjust to whichever arrangement produces better output - the rule is whatever yields sharper emails.

How do you handle SMS marketing alongside email?

SMS is complementary to email, not duplicative. We use SMS for high-intent, time-sensitive moments (cart abandonment with a 30-min window, back-in-stock alerts, flash sales, order confirmations) and email for everything that needs more space - education, brand storytelling, editorial, multi-product promos. The key is not blasting both channels with the same content - that's how you burn SMS opt-out rate.

Can you help with list growth and popup strategy?

Yes. List growth is upstream of every email metric. We audit and rebuild popup forms (timing, offer, form friction), set up embedded forms across the site, and coordinate list-building with paid social lead-gen when it makes sense. The goal is a growth curve that can keep up with natural list decay - most brands are losing ~30% of their list annually and don't realize it.
